A SIMPLE START
EARLY ADOPTER
STILL GROWING
After 10 years in England,
Stan Potratz returned to the
family farm to raise sheep. The
equipment he needed wasn’t
available and had to be imported.
Word spread, and soon he was
supplying products nationwide.
1984
Premier was “gently nudged”
into creating its first website
by Stan’s nephew (who would
later become Premier’s CEO).
This greatly expanded our
customer reach.
2016
Major building expansions
occurred in 2012 and 2020.
We celebrated in 2021 by
helping the county pave
4 miles of gravel road to
our facility.

CATALOGS
2000
SEMI-RETIREMENT
The first catalog was a black
and white, 40 page manual on
handling equipment, electric
fences and shepherding
supplies. Today, we deliver
over 400 pages spread over
five booklets and catalogs.
Jean and Stan entered
retirement and Ben Rothe
became Premier’s CEO.
They remain active with the
company and farm, but less
so with day-to-day operations.
