Electrified netting keeps livestock in and predators out!
What is electrified netting?
It’s an electrifiable, portable mesh that arrives to your door as a complete fence. All netting requires is: Fence energizer, corner support posts and ground rod
Posts are pre-installed, additional support can be added to help net adapt to all terrains and fence layouts.
When properly electrified, it contains all types of livestock and poultry while keeping out predators. Connect to a suitable fence energizer and electrify to at least 3000V.
For over 45 years, we have used miles of electrified netting as part of our farms, protecting sheep, goats, poultry, gardens and more!
How does an electric fence work?
When animals (or predators) touch an electrified fence...
1. An energizer pushes an electric pulse through its “+”
terminal to the fence.
2. The pulse travels through the fence’s conductors (small
wires in the netting).
3. When an animal touches the fence, the pulse enters the
animal and travels through its feet to the soil.
4. After exiting the animal, the pulse travels via the
moisture in the soil and enters the energizer’s ground
rod, completing the fence circuit.
5. The amount of pulse power that returns to the energizer
equals the shock effect.
Why we use it...
• It doesn’t require tools.
• It’s easy and quick to move. Installation of a 164 ft roll can be
done within 10 minutes.
• More electrified strands than multistrand fences, so it is
more secure.
• Animals rub on permanent fences, causing damage. They
won’t rub on properly electrified fences. • Because it works!
What type do I need?
1. Temporary/Portable—Moved Daily/Weekly
Your best choice for fast-paced rotational grazing set-ups, or for situations where you need to frequently move the fence.
2. Semi-Permanent—Moved Seasonally
Use a semi-permanent fence when you need it there for weeks or months. Consists of netting or a series of conductors under low tension, supported by strong/thick posts.
