HotShock ® 1000 • Peak output: 10.0 released joules • Pulses per minute: 48 • 110v AC draw: 20 watts/hr • Impedance type: low • Input: (AC) 110v plug-in A unique energizer. Few units match the 506 for energizing fences with high circuit resistances (such as dry/snowy/sandy soils and animals with high internal resistances—deer, goats and rabbits). To put this in “real” terms, it means the 506 is excellent for repelling hard-to-stop deer herds that are “addicted” to vegetables, trees and shrubs. However, it’s not advised for any short fences or for fences that are going to have “public access.” Less costly, low-impedance units are better for fences on green-grass sites. IntelliShock 506, 9.70 lb...........................................................#113600 $598.00Unique to Speedrite 6000, 6000i and 12000i…
1. Ability to switch them on/off remotely by touching the remote control to a live wire anywhere along the fence. This won’t
work if you lose the remote control!
2. A built-in digital voltmeter that indicates the current voltage at the terminals. (It’s true that the best voltage measure is at the
end of the fence. However, if I see that the voltage reading on the energizer is low, then I know to check the far end of a fence.)
3. A half voltage terminal that can be connected bipolar. This option is valuable for dry locations.
4. Ability to change pulse rate down during the day or night. But 25 pulses/minute can be too slow to stop many wild animals.
A large low-impedance unit for long, permanent electric
fences that will experience high green-weed contact. Unique
features listed above.

HotShock 1000, 8 lb.................................................................#113550 $450.00 Having noted that the units on this page are large in pulse energy output, we acknowledge that many firms make and sell larger units with 24, 40, and even 60 joule output levels. Premier is not yet comfortable selling these units—even though we are not aware of injury problems with them. Instead of using very high output units we prefer, on our farms, to: 1. Use fence designs that don’t require them. 2. Use multiple (smaller) energizers. A large (output) low-impedance unit for long, permanent electric fences that will experience high green-weed contact. Unique features listed above. Remote sold separately. Speedrite 12000i, 11 lb.............................................................#119001 $683.00 Remote for 12000i, 0.70 lb.......................................................#133510 $193.00 Wiring Harness, 0.20 lb............................................................#130800 $9.00Special and/or Large Energizers
The pulses from these units are larger in joules (not volts). Therefore these energizers have the potential to cause more pain
(and fear) to animals and humans if they contact the fence while making good contact to the soil or an earthed wire.
People with no farm knowledge may conclude that an electric fence is dangerous if they touch it. That being so, it’s best not
to use these large energizers on short fences that have public exposure. See page 146 for ways to reduce risk and liability.
