Page Background

In 1977, I returned from England to the

small Iowa family farm and decided to try to

raise commercial lambs.

To my surprise I found that the excellent

equipment I had used in England wasn’t

available in the USA.

So we imported enough for our own use.

Word spread. Soon we were supplying

products nationwide.

We adhere to these principles:

The Golden Rule.

We try to

treat customers and suppliers as we

would like to be treated.

Describe products honestly.

All items

have weaknesses. Potential users need to

know them.

• Specify how and

when products should

and should not

be used

.

• Be cautious until a product has been

field-proven.

Manufacturers are inclined

to exaggerate.

• Customize products

to suit the needs of

the end users.

Never stop improving our products and

our service.

If a product does not consistently please

our customers, fix the design or stop

selling it.

That Premier’s model works is proven by

our competitors—who flagrantly copy our

ideas, designs, products and even taglines

(such as “that works”—our idea in 1988!).

That our family of customers continues to

grow each year suggests that our efforts

are appreciated.

The original 150-acre family farm remains.

In 2007 we added 2 small farms. They allow

us to better field-test and evaluate new and

current products.

On them we care for sheep, meat goats,

chickens, ducks, geese, a horse and guard

dogs—again to test products and ideas.

Best wishes to all,

Stan & Jean Potratz

About Premier

Why so many depend on us…

• We listen to our customers.

Have a product idea or suggested improvement? Tell us. Many of our

products started off as a customer’s idea.

• We design many of our products.

Why do we do this? Because so much “off-the-shelf” equipment has

disappointed either us or our customers. So we continue to modify it to

enable it to work better, last longer and/or cost less. (We’re now large

enough that our manufacturers listen when we suggest changes.)

• We field-test our products, explain how to “use and

abuse” them and offer free advice via phone.

• We are famous worldwide for our info-rich catalogs,

website and phone service.
