Page Background Pen Gates Panels between feeders can act as entry and exit gates to pens. Connect them with large screw-in eyebolts and 1/2" dia stakes. Pulling a stake on one side allows access into a pen. Removing stakes on both sides allows animals to exit/enter. Lambing and Kidding Pens Select height (36", 40" or 48") according to your animals’ behavior (wild vs relaxed, athletic vs calm) and your preferences (tall vs short). We use connector hinges (p. 77) or braided nylon cord (p. 78) to tie pens together and snap clips (p. 78) as latches. Pen Dividers Panels used as a pen divider. We often use 48" tall panels for goats because some are athletic. Escapes are always frustrating—and can be expensive if they get into feed or mix with other animals at unhelpful moments. Shows The Monroe (Michigan) County Fair upgraded their goat barn with 48" panel pens. No goats were able to escape! Photo compliments of Caprine Council, Monroe County, MI Sale Barn Pens The Kalona (Iowa) Sales Barn uses Premier’s wire panels to build temporary pens for special sales. Photo compliments of Kalona Sales Barn Open-air Barns Panels are used on the south side of one of our lambing barns instead of wood or mesh. Portable, easy to remove to let livestock/equipment in/out of the barn. Wire panels…so many uses! Field Gates Unlike bar gates, wire panel gates stop dogs, coyotes, lambs and kids from crawling through. Within a gateway we use our wire connectors as hinges. We interconnect multiple panels to fit different widths of gate openings.
