26" for adjusting to preferred height
TIP: HOW TO CONTROL BROODER TEMPERATURE
Simply adjust the height of the Prima Lamp on the Heat Lamp Stand. To reduce the chance of hot spots forming and allow chicks to move away from the heat, hang the lamp so the base of the bulb is 12" or more above the bedding.

 SUPERIOR
HANGING SYSTEM
Use this reliable clip holder with a heat lamp clip (see p. 12) to quickly hang and secure your heat lamp.
VENTED CHIMNEY SYSTEM Allows greater heat displacement.
PROTECTED BULB
The bulb is held by a superior ceramic fixture and it’s very secure— recessed and contained by a protective grid. The grill attachment is easy to attach, and locks firmly in place.
ANTI-CHEW WIRE
The anti-chew wire protects the 16 ft cord.
STRONG PLASTIC
The glass—reinforced
plastic is resistant to high temperatures and ornery animals.
                 Reduce the worry!
  Heat Lamp DO’s
1. Tie or clip lamps very securely.
A lamp that falls onto birds/animals or bedding has consequences that can be very serious—including fire.
2. Unplug the lamp when not in use. Saves $$ in energy and bulbs.
3. To save $$, we use 175W bulbs in heated building or barns. If brooding outdoors, 250W bulbs.
Heat Lamp DON’Ts
1. Don’t hang the lamp closer than 12" to
bedding. Allow space for baby birds or animals to move away from the lamp if they become too warm. If chicks huddle together, lower the lamp. Do not allow birds or animals direct access to any heater or heat lamp.
2. Don’t enclose heat lamps in barrels or similar small spaces. The heat must be allowed to move away from the lamp.

HOT METAL
Becomes very hot to the touch.
UNPROTECTED BULB
Minimal wire grid allows hot bulb to be too close to animals and bedding.
ELECTRICITY SAVED!
ThermoCube
Use with any temperature-sensitive device. Outlet plug automatically turns power on/off according to air temperature. (On at less than 35o; off at 45o.)
           3. Don’t use heat lamps for birds longer than necessary. (We’ve heard reports of folks using them continuously.) When birds are fully feathered, reduce usage to acclimate them to cooler temperatures.
