NoShockTM Hen Pen
A 48" lightweight nonelectrified net for
use as a monitored day pen. Allows you to move your flock to fresh grass quickly and easily.
At night birds must be moved to a safe, secure location elsewhere (or a coop).
Lower 16" of netting has 1.75" spacing (see inset at right) to prevent small birds from escaping the pen.
Note: Assembling the Hen Pen is more time-consuming than for electrified nets because line posts are not pre-built into the mesh. This allows you flexibility for spacing the posts. Posts are designed to be stepped into the soil—do not hammer!

WHY DO WE OFFER NONELECTRIC NETTING?
Because some folks watch their birds during the day and move them inside at night. They can successfully use a fence that is nonelectrified. Also, some municipalities do not allow electrified fence in backyards.

NoShockTM Chick Fence This 48" fence allows chicks and
ducklings to forage outside when they’re too small to be contained by electrified PoultryNet (see pp. 62–65)—they slip through the 2"x 3" openings at the bottom of the net. And lightweight birds are not heavy enough for electrified netting to work reliably. Or enclose older birds when predators are not a problem.
Use FiberTuff posts (sold on p. 73) at corners and NetPost 15 (sold below) as line posts. Posts not included. 50 ft rolls. Black or green. 4 ft tall.
Usage Options
Use as a day pen. Set up with portable posts or build a collapsible wood frame to support the fence (see above). Bring birds out for the day and put them back in at night.
Permanent
Can be stapled (fence staples sold on our website) or zip- tied to permanent wood or metal posts (see photo at left).
Note: Rodents and animals may chew on non-electrified fences causing damage to the fence.
