Posts for multi-strand solutions
Multi-strand fences work well in temporary and semi-permanent pasture systems. Posts should be
lightweight, easy to install/remove and securely hold multiple conductors. We prefer to use reels for the
conductors to speed the installation.
• Temporary Fences—use twine and other lightweight conductors (see pp. 62–63).
• Semi-Permanent—use rope and braid, as they are more visible (see pp. 62–63).
Use 1–3 strands for cattle and up to 5 for sheep and goats (depending on level of fence training).
