1. Large plastic struts

(shown 2x actual size)
are better
for longer fence lines.
Able to hold strands above the soil
when net passes over ground.
Allows net to be set up with less
tension (because struts offer support
between posts).
Enables net to maintain height
between horizontals. Makes handling
easier during installation or removal.
Post Ground Spikes
Premier
introduced nets with struts
in 1979.
A competitor
offers nets with
“stays” and implies the “stays” are equal
to our struts. In truth they are much
smaller and therefore less able to provide
the same support as struts.
Premier’s
steel is pointed
and 30% larger in diameter.
Our “foot bar” is wider and
welded to the main spike.
Others’
are formed by
bending and then squeezed
onto a rod into the PVC.

nets
(excluding PermaNets)
are best for shorter fence lines.
Does not provide support when net
passes over rises in soil or grass. Net
will sag a little between posts.

For sites where
soil resistance is
high (brown grass, dry
soil, snow).
Also for species that
make poor soil-to-foot
contact due to fur, dry
hooves or minimal
weight (e.g. goats).
These nets are wired to allow
using every other horizontal strand
as an extension of the grounding
system. This can deliver more
pain to animals than normal nets
but they must be installed with
care and checked often to remove
objects that have fallen on or
against it (potential shorts).
(They can also be “wired” like
other Premier nets—with all
horizontals positive.)
How is Pos/Neg made?
An extra PVC tube (at right)
keeps opposing conductors
separate. With all Pos/Neg
nets, horizontal strands must
never touch each other.
1. Premium
Design includes
a
green and white
superconductor
strand
that has both
stainless steel
and tinned
copper filaments.
These nets are
10 times more
conductive
(only
38 ohms) than our
basic nets. This
enables the pulse
to go much farther and be less
affected by weed contact.
3. Pos/Neg
Very similar
in design and
conductivity
(380 ohms) to
nets from our
competitors.
They are
not advised
for fences
exceeding 1000 ft.
