Post Comparisons

Why measure side deflection?

Because it matches a post’s relative ability to resist

the side-strain of a fence at corners and curves. All

posts were measured at 35" above the soil.

Post Diameter

Note regarding NetPosts (6 and 7—also see

more information on pp. 102–105)

. Standard

NetPosts 13 and 15 hold netting well but need added

support (i.e. FiberTuff) at curves and corners.

NetPost 19 (not shown) has the same deflection as

FiberTuff 19 but support is still recommended at

curves and corners.

FiberTuff (FT) compared to FiberRods

3/8" FiberRods

• FT 22 is 300% stiffer

(see chart below).

• FT 19 is 40% stiffer.

• FT post caps have a top slot to hold net strand.

• FT posts have a step-in foot.

• FT posts don’t need a drive cap.

• FT posts are more expensive.

• FT posts are much easier to use.

11/16" FiberRods

• FT is not as stiff.

• FT is less expensive (up to 40% less).

• FT is much easier to install and remove.

FiberTuff Post FiberTuff (black) post adds support to reduce sagging for PermaNet 12/48/3 at a 90° corner. FiberRod Post (3/8") Customize FiberRods for any job with the addition of clips. Harp clips in use above. FiberRod Post (11/16") Use for corners and high-tension areas for taller and heavier nets such as Deer QuikFence above.
