Netting

• More expensive per ft than multi-strand (60¢ to $2.76).

• Best solution to keep out small animals such as dogs,

rabbits, woodchucks, raccoons, foxes, feral hogs,

deer—and ducks, geese and chickens.

• Fast and simple to install. For a typical fence line,

500 ft can be installed in less than an hour.

• Needs no tools, strength or special skills.

• Effectiveness falls fast if fence line is not mowed or

sprayed when grass grows up into the lower strands.

Multi-Strand

• Much lower cost per ft (11¢ to 25¢)—important for

long fences. Actual cost is affected by the number and

type of strands, post spacing and type of posts.

• Not as effective as netting to fence out raccoons.

Moderately effective for feral hogs, deer and wild

geese if a proven design is used.

• Because lowest strand is higher above the soil, multi-

strand fences are usually less prone to problems with

green vegetation growing into the fence over time.

• More prone to installation errors.
