Page Background Our philosophy… • Treat customers as we would wish to be treated—the Golden Rule. • Describe products honestly. All have weaknesses as well as strengths. • Specify how and when products should and should not be used. • Be cautious about an item’s merits until we’ve field-tested it on our own farms. Manufacturers tend to exaggerate a product’s abilities and ignore problems. • When feasible, customize products to better match our users’ needs. • Never stop improving product designs and descriptions. • If products disappoint stop selling them. Fix the design or find a replacement. Jean and Stan Potratz, owners

What sets us apart? We’re specialists Unlike big farmstores and other catalogs, we offer relatively few products, which we use every day. So we know our products much better than others know theirs. We use what we sell Premier has 3 farms upon which we raise chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, meat goats and horses. Most of our product consultants also raise their own cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, poultry or horses. So we are continually testing and observing our products in use throughout the year. Our history… My wife and I both grew up on small (by today’s standards) Iowa farms. Our parents had gardens, chickens, pigs, cows and sheep. My father switched to “organic” in the 1950s—40 years before it became either popular or profitable. Our family’s chicken flock varied from 200 to 1000 hens. Why so many? In those days modern “egg factories” didn’t exist. So eggs were a useful income source—and the labor to care for chickens was free. And we raised most of the feed (grain). I spent my last 2 college years in England. After graduation (1969), I managed the college’s organic farm. We raised beef and dairy cattle, chickens (as many as 1200), sheep, vegetables and soft fruit for the college’s kitchen. Premier’s poultry in 2014—we currently keep 30 hens, geese and ducks. Six of our employees have poultry at home. Why do we keep chickens and waterfowl? Because 1) we like them; 2) to test and evaluate products; 3) for photos; 4) to share the eggs with employees. Best wishes to all…Stan Potratz We support what we sell Long after (years, not months) a product reaches your door, we will be here to ensure that it continues to do for you what we suggest it should do. Customers all across the United States know this from experience. Our prices are lower For comparable products, Premier’s prices are lower than those from other sources. Why? 1. We buy direct from the manufacturers. 2. We sell direct.
