For temporary fences Moved Daily/Weekly Poultry Netting 48"
Contain the whole flock!
Our taller nets are recommended
for all poultry (even active birds like Leghorns and Buttercups). The 48" net is also more likely to discourage large predators such as coyotes and dogs. But it’s heavier and therefore more cumbersome to install and remove.
The 42" PoultryNet (see p. 62) is lighter and easier to handle but not as effective at keeping flighty birds enclosed.
For those who prefer to move fence seasonally, see 48" PermaNet® (p. 66).
How can you use netting?
• As the flock’s primary pen or run. • Contain and control flighty breeds
while guarding them from predators. • Keep small flocks in the backyard. When managed well, chickens are
an indispensable garden tool— turning pesky insects and weeds into delicious eggs and rich compost.
• Rotate poultry to fresh grass for foraging and manure distribution.
• As a multi-species grazing fence.
TIPS: ELECTRIC NETTING
• Netting must be electrified to contain poultry and livestock and deter predators.
• Due to the potential for high grass contact, use energizers with high output (0.5 joules or higher) to push a pulse through the weed load. Energizers with joules of output rating of less than .25 are insufficient and a poor allocation of fencing $$. Go with more output than what you anticipate you’ll need.
• For more Fencing FAQs refer to pp. 75–80.
    TOP PICKS
48" net height provides ample security and containment.

(right inset) The yellow Chicken Net is an economy version of our white/black netting.
(main photo) When trained early and offered plenty of room, turkeys respect 48" electrified netting. Their weight makes them more susceptible to shock than the light poultry.
