Rope or Tape Fences
IntelliRope 4.5 or 6 provide
sufficient visibility for equine use,
while tape is the most visible.
Cost: as low as 20¢ per ft
The cost is driven by the type and number of rope
strands used, frequency of posts, and choice of energizer. A

Short-Term Grazing
Moved daily or weekly, this fence is the
least expensive horse fence design.
Consists of 1 or 2 strands of electrified
rope or tape stretched hand-tight between
small-diameter wood, steel or large
fiberglass posts (usually hand-driven.
Line posts are FiberTuff (with clips),
PowerPosts, or Step-In FiberRods. Use
T-posts to support corners/ends.
• Horses must see a fence in order to
avoid it. Our black/white conductors
stand out against all backgrounds.
• Conductivity is important. Poor
conductors (often found in farmstores)
provide a strong shock near the
energizer and a weak shock at the far
end of the fence.
• Good conductors provide a uniform
shock and allow the use of smaller
energizers (less cost and risk).
• Use step-in posts—either FiberTuff or
Step-In FiberRods with clips.
• Fences must always be properly
energized. Don’t take chances!
L
Common Uses
• To separate horses from each other.
• To fence horses out of hazards.
• To make horses easier to catch by
limiting the pasture size.
• To reduce under/overgrazing.
