Tighten up your lambing season by using PG 600® in combination with CIDR Inserts
CIDR Inserts
For the induction of estrus in ewes (sheep) during seasonal anestrus (when ewes do not have regular estrous cycles outside the natural breeding season).
Label indicates that with correct procedure and progestin therapy, CIDRs induce estrus in ewes outside their normal season.
• Synchronize ewes for A.I. or rented rams • Tighten up lambing season
PG 600® For induction of estrus in
prepuberal gilts and weaned sows experiencing delayed return to estrus. 5 doses with diluent. 25 ml.
PG 600, 0.11 lb................... #888223 $57.00* *Requires refrigeration. See shipping info on p. 56.
Gilts: For induction of estrus in non-cycling gilts over 5-1/2 months of age, weighing at least 187 lbs. Treatment will not induce estrus
in gilts who have already begun to cycle. Administer 5 cc dose SQ in neck behind the ear. Estrus will be observed approximately 3-7 days after injection.
Sows: Helps return sows to estrus in early weaning programs. PG
600 complements AI programs, returning most sows to estrus in 3-7 days. Helps facilitate all-in/all-out schedules. Administer 5 cc dose SQ in neck behind the ear. Estrus will be observed approximately 3-7 days after injection.
Note: Due to the relatively few approved products for use in sheep, producers are frequently placed in
a situation that requires extra label drug usage. An unapproved product may not indicate that it’s unsafe or ineffective, but rather that it has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in sheep.
In these situations we encourage you to work with local veterinarians and follow recommendations based on their advice.
TIP: MANAGEMENT
Use in combination with CIDR inserts. For best results, pull the CIDR after 10-13 days and give an injection of PG 600®. The ewe should exhibit heat 1-3 days following CIDR removal.

CIDR Inserts (pkg of 20)
We find it’s best to have 2 people when placing a CIDR. If you don’t have help, then a headgate
(p. 111) is an invaluable tool.
When inserting the CIDR into the ewe’s vaginal tract, we recommend an antiseptic, obstetrical lubricant (see SuperLube, p. 104).
