CERAMIC vs STEEL
Blade sets with a ceramic upper blade hold their edge much longer. Ceramic cannot be sharpened. Few places sharpen ceramic blades; nor are we equipped to do so.
We do sharpen small steel blades on a guided machine, but not ceramic.
We used our guard dogs to field-test
the Eagle No. 10 against the best No. 10 blades from leading blade manufacturers. It was very easy for Eagle vs difficult for the second best. Two brands would not penetrate or cut the hair at all.
Why? The Eagle’s top blade is closer to the front tips of the lower blade
(see photo below), so cutting is easier!

Eagle and Andis blades will fit any small clipper that uses detachable A5 type blades—including Andis, Oster and Wahl.
If possible, wash or clean animals prior to clipping. Clean fiber cuts easier and reduces wear on blades so they stay sharp longer.
