building. Posts with pre-formed
clips eliminate the need to carry
(or purchase) separate insulators.
Pre-formed clips take the
guesswork out of strand height.
Consistently spaced conductors are
visually appealing to picky folks.
3 post options:
1. Multiwire Springsteel—
Insulated handle prevents
accidental shocks. Holds 5
conductors via clips. Galvanized
spring steel shaft. Hot-dip
galvanized foot.
2. Multiwire Step-In—Unique
angled clip prevents
unintentional tape detachment.
4 position level options for 1.5"
tape. 8 positions for polywire,
polytape and braid.
3. PowerPosts—
Popular for excluding small
species. Lowest clip is 1.5" above
the soil to keep small pests out
of gardens (keep grass/weeds
short if used). Very flexible, best
for low tension fences.
Of these, we prefer any of the
springsteel step-in posts for their
better stability. Their relative ability
to resist side strain is shown on p. 67.
