42" Goat & Sheep Netting

Temporary

ElectroStop ® 10/42/12 • 10 horizontal strands. • 42" tall. Vertical struts every 12". • Line posts built in every 12.5 ft. 0.60" dia. • Post spikes (SS or DS) 0.25" dia, 6" long. • Drivable Posts (DP) version available (see p. 102) . ElectroStop ® Plus 10/42/12 Identical to ElectroStop except line posts are every 6.8 ft instead of 12.5 ft . Much less prone to sag; more resistance to wind, ice (see p. 105). However, extra posts make the netting heavier—so we shortened the roll lengths to 50 ft and 100 ft long. ElectroStop compared to ElectroNet? • 7" taller. • 9 conductive twines instead of 8. When is the extra height advised? For dairy goats; flighty breeds of sheep; rams and bucks during breeding season; coyotes and athletic dogs. Disadvantages of taller nets? Costly. Not as easy to handle. Less stable in soft soils. More affected by strong winds. Why is it better than Goat & Sheep Net 9/42/6? ElectroStop’s strutted verticals sag less between posts. Lowest live strand is closer to ground. Much lower electrical resistance (better). Stronger posts. Easier to handle. Goat & Sheep Net 9/42/6 • 9 horizontal strands. • 42" tall. • Vertical strings every 6". • Posts (built-in) every 13.5 ft, 0.60" dia. • Spikes (SS) .26" dia, 6" long. • Yellow and white. How does Goat & Sheep Net compare to ElectroStop and ElectroStop Plus? • Same posts (0.60" in diameter). • String verticals instead of plastic struts. So it is: a More prone to sagging. a More likely to tangle and bunch when installing and removing. • Verticals occur every 6" instead of 12". • One less energized strand (8 vs 9). • Electrical resistance (380 ohms/1000 ft) is 10 times higher. So it is not advised for fences longer than 2 to 3 rolls of netting or fences exposed to heavy weed load. • Less expensive. • Yellow/white instead of white/black.

Uses

• Strip-graze pastures and short-

term crops.

• As an interim permanent fence

until a proper fence can be built.

• Enclose male animals.

• Keep out coyotes, dogs, bears.

• Keep in domestic dogs.

• Graze orchards, vineyards and

harvested gardens.

• Make temporary lanes and

walkways for moving animals

from place to place.

• Make replaceable water gaps.

• Protect outdoor hay supplies.

• Graze crop stover or stockpiled

forage on hay fields.

Because it’s so easy to install and

remove, many folks move Premier’s

netting weekly—fencing the flock

or herd instead of the field.

Cost

ElectroStop ® 10/42/12: (SS) Single spike—85¢ per ft (DS) Double spike—95¢ per ft ElectroStop ® Plus 10/42/12: (DS) Double spike—$1.55 per ft Goat & Sheep Net 9/42/6: (SS) Single spike—73¢ per ft

Note: We’re aware that the lower price of Goat &

Sheep Net will encourage folks to choose this version.

Think carefully before you do so. Customers who are

unhappy with netting are often those who’ve chosen

its farmstore/catalog equivalents.

So why do we offer it? Because it is similar to

nets from other sources—and comparisons make

decisions easier.
