Reel-Based Fences

Temporary

Up to 3 strands of IntelliTwine

or

IntelliRope

®

supported by FiberRods

and step-in posts, wound, unwound and

tensioned with an EzeReel

.

Conductor ends are attached via

insulators to existing fences and charged

by a battery energizer or by attaching to

an existing hot wire.

For dry soil and snowy conditions, use

3 strands and convert fence to an earth-

return system (also called a Pos/Neg

system) by connecting the middle strand

to a galvanized stake driven into the soil.

Uses

• Subdivide pastures.

• Rotational grazing.

• Protect stored hay.

• Reduce access

to streams and ponds.

• Guide cattle

into temporary corrals.

Cost: as low as 11¢ per ft

Cost of line post varies by type of post.

Conductor cost:

• IntelliRope 4.5 is bulkier than twine,

lasts longer and costs more per ft. It’s

also more visible to all species.

• IntelliTwine costs the least. It’s very

easy to rewind. However, it’s less

visible than IntelliRope to all species.

To install

Tools:

None if existing fences act as end

posts. A hammer may be necessary to

drive FiberRod posts into harder soils.

Time:

1000 ft in 30 minutes in easy

conditions with existing fences as end

posts. Fencing around/through brush

and trees takes more time, as do ends,

curves and corner posts.

Skill:

Minimal. Set the posts; string rope/

twine; attach a suitable energizer.

EzeReels attached to a steel T post. Conductor

shown is IntelliTwine.
